At Deltana Ingeniería, knowledge management is a fundamental pillar. In a sector like ours, the technological component is essential and constantly evolving, from sophisticated engineering software to our virtual office and collaborative platforms. For this reason, we accept the challenge of constantly preparing and updating our human resources, which is our most valuable asset.
Our Corporate University is the center of this knowledge management. At Deltana, we believe in professional growth and the constant updating of our team. Therefore, we have launched it, supported by an LMS software called ALUMNE, which allows us to centralize and professionalize all internal training under an asynchronous online learning format. This modality offers our collaborators total freedom of time and place to access content permanently and advance at their own pace, without the need to attend real-time classes.
We spoke with Jhonatan Marco, Head of Human Capital, who tells us more about this essential initiative at Deltana.
The Interview with Jhonatan Marco
Why did you decide to create a corporate university at Deltana?
We believe that learning is the foundation for professional growth and innovation. Previously, our training content was scattered in the cloud, and while it worked, it wasn't the most professional or efficient experience. Now, with ALUMNE, everything is centralized, organized, and accessible to each person in their own profile.
What advantages are there to using an LMS platform like ALUMNE?
The big difference is usability. Every employee can log in with their user account, see which courses are assigned to them, track their progress, pick up where they left off… ultimately, it's much more agile and functional. Furthermore, it allows us to measure participation and the impact of the training.
How many hours of training are currently available?
Today, we have close to 150 hours of training recorded, and in total, we have offered over 1,300 hours of training to our employees. This demonstrates our commitment to their professional development and continuous updating.
What kind of content can employees find in this corporate university?
We primarily have technical training on civil engineering tools, and we are currently developing content on soft skills, leadership, and professional development. We want every person to find learning opportunities aligned with their career plan.
Why is constant updating so important in your sector?
In civil engineering, tools, regulations, and technologies evolve quickly. If we don't update ourselves, we run the risk of falling behind. This platform helps us to always stay up-to-date, maintain the quality of our projects, and remain competitive in the market.
How does this training impact team motivation and growth?
A lot. When people see that the company invests in their development, they feel valued. Furthermore, having a space to learn new tools and improve their skills allows them to grow professionally and achieve their individual goals.
Has it been difficult to implement this platform?
No, quite the opposite. ALUMNE is very intuitive and has allowed us to migrate the content quickly. We went from having training "in the cloud" to having a professional, structured environment with tracking in a matter of weeks.
What are your future plans for this corporate university?
We want to continue expanding the course catalog, incorporate interactive content, and further connect training with individual development plans. The idea is that every person at Deltana has a clear path for professional growth alongside the company.
