We have been in Toronto, Canada on a technical-commercial tour, exploring opportunities that will allow us to scale our activity in large projects related to urban and extra-urban transportation systems in the province of Ontario in Canada.
Deltana Engineering is currently involved in support in some Ontario Line construction projects and is providing services related to estimating and updating quantities derived from design to execution. Beyond that, we were also in contact with the consortia building extra-urban systems such as the GO Expansion project, previously known as GO Regional Express Rail (RER) as well as the Hurontario LRT, a provincially owned system consisting of a light rail line connecting to the cities of Mississauga and Brampton along the Hurontario corridor.
Our service offering is oriented to support the constructability of the design and is oriented to ensure that the design and construction models are compatible with each other and can be integrated without conflicts. For this purpose, our Back Office Construction Engineering (BOCE©) role starts with the information coming from the design, either in 2D or in three-dimensional models, in BIM environment to provide in the construction phase different elements that contribute to an adequate execution and control of the project, such as the follow-up and update of quantities (QTO), elaboration of shopdrawings of rebar, architecture or installations (MEP), complementation of BIM models for the coordination and integration of the same, LOD upgrading and also parameterization for the the extraction of quantities automation, according to the needs of the work site, which also implies the segmentation of the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) according to the phases of execution, subcontracting, etc... . These are key areas in the management of modern construction projects, especially in large and complex projects such as those mentioned above.
We are pleased that our technical team at Deltana Engineering is involved in these areas, as they are critical to optimizing efficiency, accuracy and collaboration on large-scale construction projects such as those we are currently supporting in Ontario.
