Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx have shortlisted and Requested Proposals (RFPs) for the design and construction of Stations, Rail and Systems (SRS) for the Scarborough Subway Extension project. Teams were shortlisted and invited to bid based on criteria identified in the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process that began in September 2021. Criteria included the Applicant's design and construction experience, as well as its financial ability to deliver a project of this size and complexity.
Three teams were shortlisted and invited to respond to the RFP. The teams and their main members are:

The development phase is expected to start in the fall of 2022.
The 7.8 kilometer Scarborough Subway Extension foresees deliveries under two major contracts: the SRS package and the tunnel advancement contract. Already the tunnel contract was awarded on May 25, 2021 to Strabag.
The Scarborough Subway Extension is one of four priority transit projects announced by the province in 2019 for the Greater Toronto Area. In May 2021, the Government of Canada announced funding for Ontario's four priority transit projects in the Greater Toronto Area, including the Ontario Line, a three-stop Scarborough Subway Extension, the Yonge North Subway Extension and the West extension of Eglinton Crosstown.
Deltana Engineering has actively collaborated in similar bidding processes around the world and in particular the province of Ontario as an expert in the extraction and estimation of quantities for urban railway projects, so it sees this project as a new opportunity to collaborate with its professional team, experienced in these tasks
